Armed Forces Day: Honoring Those Who Defend

The United States of America has a long military history, full of stories of success and freedom. This week we celebrate Armed Forces Day, a day that explicitly celebrates more than 1.3 million Americans who have answered the call to serve.

In 1950, President Harry S Truman signed a proclamation noting the third Saturday in May as Armed Forces Day. He wrote that this day represents progress, preparedness, and unity.

For LEAD’s founder, Mike Rogers, this means more than a tip of the hat. As an Army veteran, Mike understands that the call to serve embodies the American Dream. Fighting for one’s country is a badge of honor – a mission that creates leaders and propels forward the ideals that make our nation great.

As we honor the men and women in uniform on this special day, let us remember that their service is the bedrock upon which the American Dream thrives, and it is our duty to support and cherish their invaluable contributions.
