Your Biggest Threat at Work: A Lack of Cybersecurity

Your social security number, your credit card number, and your medical records: what do these three things have in common? They are private, susceptible, and essential pieces of your personal information. Protecting this information is critical to keep you and your loved ones safe and secure online. However, cybersecurity knowledge in the workplace remains shockingly low.  

Research reveals that one-third of employees do not understand the importance of cybersecurity or the threat levels they face as potential victims of identity theft or scams. This lack of cybersecurity comprehension risks sensitive, personal data of millions of Americans—this goes for your workplace, the small (and large) businesses you shop at, and your own accounts.  

We must educate ourselves and the people around us about the importance of cybersecurity and how to protect meaningful data. We buy security systems to protect our homes and keep our money secure in the bank. It is crucial that we give the same level of attention and care to our data, or we could lose it all.
