Happy Birthday, Army!

247 years ago, the Second Continental Congress founded the United States Army. What began as less than 30,000 militia troops has evolved to become the most powerful ground force in the world. Nearly two and a half centuries after its origin, the U.S. Army’s purpose remains constant: the fight and win America’s wars by providing ready, prompt and sustained land dominance – all for the purposes of protecting Americans.

Ronald Reagan once said “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation.” The brave men and women who serve in the Army are among the ranks of those who have stepped up to preserve that ideal, and we are forever grateful for their sacrifice.

For LEAD Founder Mike Rogers, this annual recognition of the Army is more than just patriotic, it’s personal.

“I am immensely proud to have once worn the United States Army uniform. Thank you to all the Army military members for your service and for your sacrifice in the defense of our country. Happy birthday, hooah!”
